  • Domaine Louis Boillot & Fils, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, Champonnet 2008

    $115.00

“High-toned kirsch mingles with ripe fresh cherry, chalk dust, and citrus oil on the nose of Boillot’s 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champonnet, then inform a plate of striking brightness, energy, and irresistible juiciness. The tart exuberance of this Gevrey as well as its surprisingly silken feel belie the relatively young vines that birthed it; and there is an admirable sense of transparency here to mineral nuance. I would anticipate at least a decade’s worth of satisfaction.” (91-92) WA

  • Dal Forno Romano, Valpolicella Superiore 2010

    $125.00

“The 2010 Valpolicella Superiore Monte Lodoletta is more precise and focused compared to the 2011 edition that I tasted at the estate at the same time. This was not an easy vintage in Valpolicella compared to other parts of Italy that enjoyed a classic growing season. Instead, this Northern corner of Italy suffered from heavy rains and some hail damage. Overall yields were lower as a result. But the wine sings in terms of its brightness and aromatic intensity today. The expressive bouquet covers all the bases from black fruit to spice to drying mineral or flint. All of these elements conspire to bring robust flavors together with smooth and seamless transitions.” -95 RP

  • Albert Bichot, Domaine du Clos Frantin, Vosne-Romanee, Les Malconsorts 1er Cru 2012

    $195.00 $165.00

“Happily here there is no reduction present on the ultra-spicy and floral nose where soft wood frames the ripe aromas of various dark berries and plum scents. There is excellent concentration to the robust and overtly muscular medium weight plus flavors that brim with dry extract on the structured and very firm but not hard finish that displays outstanding length on the mineral-driven backend. This robust effort is borderline strict at present and will require plenty of age to soften the tannins. Patience required.”-93BH

  • Casanova di Neri, Tenuta Nuova, Brunello di Montalcino 2013

    $129.00

“Casanova di Neri’s 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is celebrating its 20th anniversary (1993-2013), and a special gold-label edition of the wine was made to commemorate this important milestone. This is a bold and expressive Brunello that displays tightly knit aromas of Morello cherry, spice, leather and balsam herb that are the building blocks of the most beautiful Brunellos that come to mind. The Casanova di Neri house style implies a modern and sophisticated approach for sure. But the inner spirit and texture of Sangiovese is so fine and polished in its natural state that it hardly matters. The personality of the grape shines through with a loud and confident voice.” – 97 WA

  • Cayuse, God Only Knows, Grenache 2012

    $175.00

“Structured and backward, the 2012 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard offers lots of framboise, black cherries, bouquet garni and spice to go with a full-bodied, seamless, elegant feel on the palate. It picks up more and more tannin with time in the glass, and needs 3-4 years of cellaring, but should keep for 15 years or more.” -96 RP

  • Cayuse, Viognier, Cailloux Vineyard, Walla Walla 2014

    $75.00

“What I think might be one of the finest Viogniers made in the New World, the 2014 Viognier Cailloux Vineyard offers a sensational, Condrieu-like bouquet of white flowers, tangerine, citrus and hints of apricot. Brought up in a mix of concrete tanks, stainless steel and neutral barrels, drink this medium-bodied, fresh, gorgeously layered white over the coming 4-5 years.”  -94 RP

  • Chateau Pontet-Canet, Pauillac, 2011

    $195.00

“Proprietor Alfred Tesseron-s 2011 Pontet-Canet is packaged in an engraved, heavy bottle, which only adds to the attractiveness of this beauty. A dense purple color is accompanied by notes of forest floor, acacia flowers and creme de cassis in this full, rich, and unequivocally classic Pauillac. With soft but noticeable tannins as well as a complete, full-bodied mouthfeel, this 2011 will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring, and should age effortlessly for 15-20 years. Bravo!” –93+ WA
