Since 1997, Tyrrell’s association with the “Rufus Stone” has been utilized for its top non-Hunter vineyards in Heathcote. Situated just over 100kms north of Melbourne, Heathcote was originally planted in the 1860’s on some of Australia’s oldest mineral rich land. A unique topography provides a fertile climate and soil for shiraz vines to thrive, producing grapes which have the ability to fully ripen, yet retain excellent levels of natural acidity and fine-grained tannins.
