  • Chateau Montelena, Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 2004

    $225.00

“A classic, old style Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, Montelena’s 2004 reveals beautiful purity along with lots of creme de cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish.  By Montelena standards, it is a bit more powerful than usual (14.1% alcohol). These wines have an uncanny ability to age for 2-3 decades, and while the 2004 is slightly more forward and evolved than other vintages have been (2001 and 2002), it should last for 20-25 years.” -95 RP

    $235.00

“The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravelly Meadow offers up an opaque purple-black color and is profoundly scented of crème de cassis, plum preserves and mocha with hints of tar, black pepper, Indian spices and balsamic. Full-bodied, rich and decadent in the mouth, it delivers an incredible depth of fruit and earthy flavors, with a solid backbone of fine-grained tannins and great freshness, finishing long and earthy.”

“Bottled in July 2017 and composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the Dominus 2015 Proprietary Red Wine leaps from the glass with notes of fresh wild blueberries, crushed blackberries and black currant juice with touches of wild thyme, underbrush, iron ore and aniseed with wafts of lavender and pencil lead. • Freemark Abbey, Cabernet Bosché, Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

    $170.00

“The classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Bosché Vineyard is 90.1% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest 9.9% Merlot, aged 26 months in oak. This is one of the iconic wines of Napa, and one of the great vineyard sources coming from Rutherford on foothill bench soils at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. This is one of the finest examples of this wine I’ve ever tasted, and there have been many. The wine shows plenty of loamy soil notes intermixed with blackberry, cassis, cedar wood and spice box. It’s full-bodied, shows terrific intensity, a multi-dimensional mouthfeel and moderate tannin in the finish. It still needs cellar time – and 5-6 years should bring forth plenty of magic, but this wine will also last 30-40 years.”

  • Molly Dooker, Enchanted Path, 2010

    $99.00

“Blended of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Enchanted Path was matured for 12 months in 85% new oak (97% American and 3% French). Very deep purple-black colored, it gives notes of ripe cassis and black cherry compote over hints of smoked bacon, dark chocolate, espresso, cedar and cloves. Very full bodied, densely packed and opulent in the mouth, it has a medium level of grainy tannins, very crisp acidity and a long finish with some mintiness coming through. Drink it 2014 to 2022+.” – 94 Points WA

    $169.00

“Very deep purple-black colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate bursts forth from the glass with opulent crème de cassis, baked cherries and mocha notes with touches of charcuterie, licorice, sandalwood and forest floor. Big, rich and full-on sexy in the mouth, it delivers loads of black fruit preserves, exotic spice and savory layers. Framed by soft, very fine-grained tannins, it finishes with lingering anise and chocolate-covered cherries notions. Yum!”

  • Opus One 2015

    $395.00

“The 2013 Opus One, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec, is a beauty. Velvety textured, without a had edge to be found, notes of crème de cassis, blueberry, subtle wood and floral notes gently rise from the wine’s dense purple color. Beautifully full-bodied and extraordinarily elegant and pure, this is certainly one of their great achievements over the last 37 years. The wine has an exquisite finish and can be drunk now or cellared for 25-30 years.” 97+ RP
