The Graillot brothers hired a firm believer in biodynamic viticulture to manage the vineyards in Beaujolais. The 40-year-old vines at ‘En Besset’ in Saint-Amour are planted on slopes of stony granite, schist soils at high altitudes. Saint-Amour is the most northerly of the crus near the borders of Saint-Véran and the Mâconnais. The 12- to 13-year-old vines at Fleurie are planted on pink-colored granite soils. The grapes are harvested in 20 kg boxes and transported to the winery in refrigerated trucks.
