  • Domaine Huet, Le Haut-Lieu, Vouvray

    $42.00

“The 2009 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux offers rich and super ripe fruit on the nose, but is still precise and fresh and displays some earthy flavors. Round, intense and elegant on the palate, this is a sweet and salty, very elegant, pure and persistent Chenin of great delicacy. Silky textured and with a lovely refined acidity, this concentrated and densely woven bottling is still very young, full of energy and provided with discreet power. The finish is compact, salty, very long and gives a revival of all the ripe fruit flavors. Not a coolish but a ripe, very energetic and just beautiful wine. Drink now and over the next 50+ years.” -95 WA

  • Occidental, Catherine, Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir 2015

    $135.00

“Medium to deep ruby-purple, the 2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir has a lovely savory/earthy nose of black tea, charcoal and black soil over a core of black cherries and red currants. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with red berry and earthy flavors, supported by silky, fine-grained tannins, and finishing long and earthy.” -92 RP

  • Peter Michael, Les Pavots, Sonoma Coast 2014

    $285.00

“The 2014 Proprietary Red Les Pavots (3,570 cases) is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot aged in mostly Taransaud barrels with a small helping of Darnajou thrown in. This wine is fabulous in the vintage, although certainly less profoundly concentrated and extracted, as well as structured, compared to the 2013, which was off-the-charts fabulous. This is a brilliant wine, charming, with front-end loaded plum, blackcurrant and black raspberry fruit interwoven with graphite, tar and truffle notes. The wine has sumptuous texture, sweet, velvety tannin, and a long, full-bodied finish. It should drink well for at least two decades.”-95 RP

  • Royal Tokaji, 5 Puttonyos Aszu, 2013

    $67.00

“The apricot, kumquat and honey flavors are tinged by lanolin in this medium-sweet white. Racy acidity keeps this fresh and lively on the lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2020.” -90 WS

  • Saint Cosme, Cote-Rotie, Syrah 2015

    $95.00

“This has a little sauvage note peeking out, with bay leaf and game accents adding range to the rich core of crushed plum and blackberry fruit. A warm cast iron detail drives the finish, and latent grip allows everything to linger. Distinctive in profile and should age well. Best from 2020 through 2035. 587 cases made.”-95 WS

  • Saint Cosme, Gigondas, Hominis Fides, 2015

    $135.00

“That the 2015 Gigondas Hominis Fides is a great wine is undeniable; the question merely becomes, How great is it? Flowering garrigue and licorice notes start things off, followed by raspberries and dried spices, phenomenal concentration and length. It might show a touch of warmth on the finish, but by then I was writing in my notes “Who cares?” followed by joy-filled expletives.”-97 RP

  • TOR, Cuvée Susan, Reserve, Chardonnay 2014

    $99.00

“For the first time ever, Tor Kenward made a Chardonnay Reserve Cuvée Susan in 2014.  This was a selection of the best barrels from all his different lots.  The 2014 Chardonnay Reserve Cuvée Susan wine displays plenty of orange blossom, pineapple, caramelized citrus, lemon oil and subtle oak.  It is full-bodied, rich, and potentially very complex and long-lived.” -96 RP Drink 2016-2023
