Today, three generations of the Niellon family currently work at the domaine. With the help of his son-in-law, Michel Coutoux, who joined him in 1991, Niellon has increased the estate’s production by buying new vineyards and building a larger winery. His grandson, Matthieu Bresson, also joined the winery, after graduating from La Lycée Viticole in Beaune. Each generation contributes their unique knowledge and expertise to create the finest wines. Mathieu Bresson, the son of Michel Niellon’s second daughter, Chantal, became invovled with the Domaine about 10 years ago, after studying at the Lycee Vitcole in Beaune. He brings a fourth generation into the winery. Located in Chassagne Montrachet, the Domaine currently produces about 50,000 bottles of a dozen Appellations, ranging from Bourgonge Chardonnay to Premier and Grand Crus. The wines are aged in oak barrels, 20-30% new, which match terror expression of the Domaine’s wines.
