Walter Scott Wines is a family-owned winery located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The winery was founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Erica Landon and Ken Pahlow. Ken had always dreamed of starting his own wine label, and Erica inspired him to take the leap. The two partners emptied their meager retirement accounts to get started, and they began making wine in the basement of their home.

Walter Scott Wines’ first vintage, La Combe Verte Pinot Noir, was released in 2009. The wine was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to put the winery on the map. In the years since, Walter Scott Wines has continued to grow and expand. The winery now produces a variety of wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling.

The name Walter Scott honors two people who meant the world to Ken. Walter, Ken’s grandfather, was a flight engineer for Trans World Airlines. Walter was a dynamic and adventurous man who always strived to make his dreams come true. Scott was Ken’s nephew. Scott was a fearless young man who never shied away from anything. The names Walter and Scott represent the spirit of adventure and the pursuit of excellence that is at the heart of Walter Scott Wines.
