“A little reserved aromatically, the 2013 Chardonnay Holly’s Cuvee Spring Ridge Vineyard — released under Varner’s Neely label — has Chablis like notes of lemon curd, buttered orchard and stone fruits, crushed rock, honeysuckle and a touch of toast all emerging from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and layered, it shows more and more purity with time in the glass; it has building richness, a solid mid-palate and plenty of acidity that emerges on the finish.
