Wines to buy from Dominique Lafon, Rare Burgundy

Dominique Lafon has helmed his family’s estate, Domaine des Comtes Lafon, since 1984. The wines of Domaine des Comtes Lafon are some of the most sought after whites (and sleeper reds) in all of Burgundy. These are wines that are generally approachable while young, and yet are famous for aging gracefully. Must admit that these are some of my personal favorite wines of Burgundy.

In 2008 he started his own label under his own name- Dominique Lafon. He wanted the freedom and flexibility to experiment and in some cases deviate from his family’s house style. The same team farms the vineyards for both Dominique Lafon and Domaine des Comtes Lafon. The vineyards are worked under the meticulous standards of biodynamic farming. The Dominique Lafon wines are frequently sourced from upper slopes that express pure precision and minerality.
